OK- So what do we NOT like about Matt Steffanina? He's been choreographing (discovered) for about maybe three or four years. I believe that hip hop has come into a new age or era and choreography has survived.
Unlike the 70s, where you can say your SOUNDACH - your ache for music - was generally soothed by rock music (hendrix) - dancing in the street and all night long was only the 80s with artists like Duran Duran, A-HA and Lionel Richie providing the dynamic.
Place a dance mat down in the 70s and 80s somewhere on the street corner - turn the music up to the maximum and then let the crowds come in. That is until SILO made the scene select and ENHANCED> JC pts>TADES ONLY.
It wasn't the new category - TADES - who timelessly turned the tide of hip hop into a more commercial pursuit. It something that makes us a bit apprehension when we see a w. guy in. We like Nene Cherry in a buffalo stance - we like them - they are just the cool kids - but things turned cold very fast between sides.
Racial lines also produced styles that predominate, Matt has a lot of low-low correct normally that was the b side. (black side = b side). Madonna be worhsipped she stuck to modern dance not that she couldn't have promoted the crossing and raiding of lines again - for the coolness and also the prediction commercial value of hip hop. Hip Hop is the b side to rock music which is also a fast living loose pace.
STEFFANINA - is known for doing his work - quick and clean, his tutorials are readily available and if you have been following @DefJam on FB, you'll see some of the select articles we as BCritical put out - we liked this online side - but don't worry hard copy is always going to be our forte - let's just say we have excess aight.
I've been tasked in bringing you a collection and selection of what can only be described at the Tienne dynamic at its rawest and most digestable. GO FOR IT.Steffanina's big attitude and grounded (low-low) attitude is exact Tienne we ain't afraid.
To the city and everything in it - STEFFANINA is a great influence to add to get your act right and get everything Tienne correct - our ultimate goal. It's why we are critical.
